Hi, my name is Harvey, and I started Harvey’s Coffee when I was 14 years old. However, my coffee journey began long before that. I grew up watching my dad roast coffee in our backyard, using the same drum roaster he had owned since the early 1990s when he ran his own coffee shop. For most of my life, it was simply part of the background: the smell of fresh roasts, the sound of beans cracking, and the sight of my dad doing something he truly loved.
One day, he asked me to watch him roast a batch. I was in a good mood, I said yes, and something just clicked. I fell in love with the process instantly— The craft, the patience, and the precision needed, the idea that a perfect cup takes real work. That moment turned into a hobby, then into a passion, and eventually into a business idea that my dad encouraged me to pursue.
Starting a business at 14 with no guidebook hasn't been easy. I've made mistakes, had to figure things out alone, learned how to problem-solve, and faced a few fires. But every challenge has pushed me to improve.
Today, Harvey's Coffee is proudly run from my backyard, with the help of my friend Dash Voskuhl. We roast 100% by hand in order to keep every batch fresh, and at the highest quality possible. We change our selection to bring in the highest quality specialty coffee available.
Quality is at the heart of everything we do.
Our customers can feel the handmade effort in every step. We want every cup to reveal flavors and clarity that people never knew coffee could have. The greatest compliment we could ever receive is someone saying, "This is the best coffee I've ever tasted."
As we grow, our goals are big. My dream is that years from now, people can look back and say: "Harvey's Coffee? That was the best coffee I ever had."
That's the legacy I want to build.
